U15 Executive Heads – Executive Committee

The word “Executive Head” refers to the president, rector, or principal of a U15 member university.  The Executive Heads make up the U15 Board of Directors, the governing body of The U15.  The Executive Heads are supported by their respective chief academic officer (provost, vice-president, vice-principal or vice-rector) and their senior research officer (vice-president, vice-principal or vice-rector, research).

The U15 appoints a Chair through a process of peer nomination to lead the governing body. One to three Executive Heads are appointed as Vice-Chairs and also serve on the U15 Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee consists of the current chair and one to three other members nominated by the overall membership. The committee is charged with acting on behalf of The U15 concerning operational matters related to the Directorate. The Executive Heads may also, from time to time, delegate authority to the Executive Committee to act on behalf of the full membership in particular areas.
