U15 Canada members drive research excellence in Canada and around the world. As a collective of Canada’s leading research universities, U15 Canada is an engaged member of the international research community.
In 2014, U15 Canada joined the Global Research-Intensive Universities Network (GRIUN), a network of associations representing leading research universities across several countries. The Global Network connects leading research universities to promote research cooperation with Canada’s peers and to coordinate policies and practices to the betterment of all.
Our partners in the Global Research-Intensive Universities Network (GRIUN) include the:
- Association of American Universities (AAU);
- German U15;
- Group of Eight (Go8) Australia;
- League of European Research Universities (LERU);
- Research University 11 (Japan); and
- Russell Group (UK).
As a member of the Global Research-Intensive Universities Network (GRIUN), U15 Canada has committed to advancing the interests of university research on the world stage. U15 Canada has joined its GRIUN partners as a signatory of:
- the Joint Udice-U15 Canada Statement on sharing a common vision of strengthening the scientific and academic partnership between France and Canada
- the Joint U15 Canada and German U15 Statement on strategic collaboration
- the Berlin Statement on the role of research-intensive universities in a time of global challenges
