NSERC’s New President

On behalf of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities, we welcome the appointment of Dr. Mario Pinto as president of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Dr. Pinto has had a distinguished research career in the field of chemistry, and was most recently Vice-President Research at Simon Fraser University. In that capacity, Dr. Pinto has worked with the U15 and its member institutions, and we know well his commitment and tireless dedication to advocating for the value of research and innovation. The U15 and its member institutions  look forward to working  with Dr. Pinto once he is installed in his new role.

In the meantime, we thank Janet Walden, Chief Operating Officer, for her work as interim head during the selection process.
